Personalized Children's Book with Your Child's Photo
In short: With Fablewish, you upload one photo of your child and they become the illustrated hero of a picture book – with their likeness and their name on every page. You see a free cover preview, usually in under a minute, before you pay. Paperback $34.90, hardcover $44.90 or e-book $12.99; free US shipping. Our stories are for ages 3–7.
There are two kinds of personalized books. Some only add your child's name – or let you pick a hairstyle and skin tone from a list. Others use a real photo, so the character actually looks like your child. Fablewish books are the second kind: the illustrations are made from your child's photo, so they recognize themselves on every page.
How a book from your child's photo is made
- Choose a story. Lights Up the Night (bedtime courage), The Empty Soup or The Very Big Carrot (both for picky eaters).
- Upload one photo. We turn it into an illustrated character in the style of the book, with the help of AI-assisted illustration.
- Enter the name and eye color, and add a dedication if you like.
- See the free cover preview – usually in under a minute. Not quite right? Look at other cover options before you pay.
- After you order, the inside pages are illustrated in the same style. Your book is printed to order and shipped by our US print partner.
Lights Up the Night
♥ Builds confidenceAges 3–7
The Empty Soup
♥ Tries new foodsAges 3–7
The Very Big Carrot
♥ Loves trying new foodsAges 3–7Which photo works best?
- One child, face clearly visible, looking roughly at the camera.
- Good, even light – daylight by a window is perfect. Avoid strong shadows.
- Recent, so the character looks like your child today.
- No sunglasses, hats or hands covering the face.
- A normal phone photo is fine – no professional photo needed.
The illustration is an artistic interpretation: small differences from the photo, like hairstyle or clothing, are part of the style. Your child should clearly recognize themselves as the hero.
