This Privacy Policy explains how Fablewish, operated by Edanox Group LLC (“Fablewish,” “we”), collects, uses and protects personal information when you visit our website, personalize a book, request a cover preview or place an order. Because our books are made with photos of children, we handle this information with particular care.

1. Information we collect

  • Personalization details: the photo you upload and the details you enter (child’s name, gender, eye color, optional dedication) and the cover you choose.
  • Order information: your name, email, shipping and billing address, phone number (required by our print partner for delivery) and order details.
  • Payment information: processed directly by our payment providers; we never see or store your full card details.
  • Device and usage data: IP address, browser type and pages visited, collected through cookies and similar technologies. When you upload a photo or request a preview, we also record your IP address to prevent abuse.

2. How we use your information

  • to store the photo you upload so it can be used for your preview and order (photos are reduced in size and location data from your camera is removed in your browser before upload);
  • to create your free preview: when you request it, we use your photo to create a character illustration and a book cover (and, if you ask for them, a few alternative covers) before you place an order;
  • after you order, to create the remaining illustrations and the print file for your book (the character and the cover you chose in the preview are reused);
  • to print and ship your book and to send order and shipping updates;
  • to provide customer support and handle reprints;
  • to operate, secure and improve our website and to prevent fraud.

We do not use photos to train AI models, for advertising, or for facial recognition or identification, and we never publish them without your separate, explicit permission.

3. Children’s privacy

Our website is intended for parents and other adults, not for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Photos and details of a child are provided by a parent or guardian, who confirms they are authorized to do so, and are used only to create the requested preview and book. A parent or guardian can ask us at any time to review or delete this information by emailing hello@fablewish.com.

4. How long we keep your information

  • Photos uploaded without a completed order, and any preview illustrations created from them, are deleted automatically within 30 days.
  • For orders, the original photo, the preview images and the generated illustrations are deleted within 60 days after shipping, so we can reprint if something goes wrong.
  • Order records are kept as long as required for tax, accounting and legal purposes.

5. Service providers

We share information only with providers that help us run our business, under contracts that limit their use of the data:

  • Shopify – online store, checkout and order management;
  • Vercel – hosting of our personalization application and private, access-restricted storage of uploaded photos and preview images;
  • Google Cloud (Vertex AI) – creating the preview and the illustrations from your photo; customer data is not used to train Google’s models;
  • Neon – database for personalization and order data;
  • Lulu Press, Inc. – printing and shipping your book;
  • Payment providers such as Shopify Payments, Stripe or PayPal.

We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may also disclose information where required to comply with legal obligations or lawful requests.

6. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to run the store (for example, for the cart and checkout), to analyze traffic and performance and to improve our website. These may include analytics and advertising tools such as Shopify Analytics, Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or TikTok Pixel. You can disable cookies in your browser settings and manage your choices on our Your Privacy Choices page.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example California, Virginia, Colorado and other US states), you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to access, correct or delete it, and to opt out of certain processing. You can make a request at any time by emailing hello@fablewish.com or via our contact page. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted transmission. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

9. International processing

Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries.

10. Third-party links

Our website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices or content.

11. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
